Teardown
Cheap SEO backlink offers, torn down line by line
Below is an invented listing, written the way real ones read. We cut it into pieces and say what each piece tells a small-business owner.
The verdict first
A cheap link is fine. A cheap link you cannot inspect is not
Price alone says little. A $3 placement on a real blog in your field can be a sensible test, and a $300 one on a site you cannot open is not. What you want is the ability to look before you buy.
- Look at the donor site before you pay
- Want the target page and anchor to be yours to pick
- Be wary of any listing that says only 'high DA' and nothing else
The listing we invented
Here is the whole thing, made up for this page: 'PREMIUM DA70+ BACKLINKS. 100 permanent links, whitelisted, drip-fed. Only $5. Fast delivery. Totally safe. Get ranked now.'
It is two sentences of numbers and five of adjectives. Each line rewards a closer look, so we will go through them in turn.
Phrase by phrase
| Phrase in the offer | What it really tells you | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| DA70+ | A third-party score, not a Google metric. It can be inflated by weak links. | Which sites, and what is their real organic traffic? |
| 100 links for $5 | Five cents a link points to automated placements, not editorial ones. | Where will they appear, and can I see a sample? |
| Permanent | No definition is given. Pages get deleted and sites go offline. | What happens if a link disappears? |
| Drip-fed | Says the schedule is spread out, nothing about quality. | Does it matter if the sites are all irrelevant? |
| Totally safe | No vendor controls Google's spam systems, so this cannot be true. | Walk away from this phrase. |
| Get ranked now | Rankings take weeks and depend on much more than links. | Treat it as noise. |
Why $5 can be real and $0.05 a link is not
Our own range starts at $1 for a single placement. One link, one site, which you can look up. The number works because each row is a separate, individually vetted site, listed with its traffic and niche so you can judge it before paying.
Divide $5 by 100 and you get a price nobody can pay a human editor. At that rate the work is done by a script. Google's December 2022 link spam update and the March 2024 spam policies were aimed squarely at what scripts make.
One honest cheap link beats a hundred anonymous ones, and it is also easier to explain if anyone asks where it came from.
A fair reader will object that some sellers do charge pennies and still deliver something. True. Still, ask for a sample page first. Our first-five checklist shows how to size a first test, and the week-by-week page shows how long to wait before judging it.
Five questions for any cheap offer
- Can I see the exact site before I pay, with its traffic and niche?
- Do I choose the page the link goes to?
- Is the text on the page about my topic, or about nothing?
- Where does the link show up afterwards, so I can check it?
- Who do I ask if the link is missing a month later?
We list the donor domain, its Domain Rating, organic traffic, referring domains, niche, language and price on every row, and orders appear in your account with a status. We still cannot promise what a link will do for your rankings. Nobody can, and the vendor scorecard shows how to test any seller on the same grid.
